Skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s capital city, has a variety of stunning buildings that dominate the skyline. These tall towers, ranging from famous landmarks like the Petronas Twin Towers to recent developments like Exchange 106, are a tribute to the city’s growth and modernity.

1. The Petronas Twin Towers

  • The Petronas Twin Towers, constructed in 1998, are the city’s most recognizable structures.
  • These twin skyscrapers, which stand 452 metres tall and have 88 stories, were the world’s highest buildings until 2004.
  • The towers are linked by a double-decker sky bridge on the 41st and 42nd floors, providing excellent city views. The towers’ design is based on Islamic art and has a repeating pattern of triangles and circles.

2. Kuala Lumpur Tower

  • Another well-known landmark in the city is the Kuala Lumpur Tower. This 421-meter-tall telecommunications tower features an observation deck with sweeping views of the city.
  • The tower also has a spinning restaurant and a number of other tourist attractions.

3. Exchange 106

  • It is part of the Tun Razak Exchange development, which is set to become the city’s new financial centre. Exchange 106 is a modern and elegant structure with a striking diamond-shaped crown on top.

4. Four Seasons Place

  • The Four Seasons Place development comprises of a 65-story residential tower and a 48-story hotel tower. This development, completed in 2018, stands at 343 metres in height and is one of Malaysia’s highest structures.
  • The top 20 floors of the hotel tower are occupied by the Four Seasons Hotel, while the residential tower has luxury flats.

5. Menara Telekom

  • Menara Telekom is a 55-story telecommunications tower that stands 310 metres tall. This tower, which was completed in 2001, serves as the headquarters of Telekom Malaysia, the country’s major telecommunications firm.
  • Menara Telekom is known for its unusual spire, which is illuminated at night and visible from many locations in the city.

6. The Exchange TRX

  • The Exchange TRX is a currently in construction mixed-use complex. When finished, it will include two towers, the tallest of which will stand at 492 metres. This will make it Malaysia’s tallest building and one of the world’s tallest.
  • The Exchange TRX is part of the Tun Razak Exchange development, which is slated to become Kuala Lumpur’s new financial hub.

7. Berjaya Times Square Tower

  • Berjaya Times Square Tower is a 48-story skyscraper in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur. It is part of the Berjaya Times Square development, which also contains a shopping mall and a hotel, and was completed in 2003.
  • The tower, which measures 203 metres tall, is now the eighth highest skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur.
