Overview

Kuala Lumpur Orchid Garden was established in the year 1986, covering an area of approximately 1 hectares in size. In Kuala Lumpur Orchid garden with its adjacent Hibiscus garden is a relaxing place to enjoy attractive tropical blooming in the middle prosperous natural garden. The Orchid Garden is located opposite the KL Bird Park within the scenic KL Lake Gardens, a few minutes drive from the bustling center of the city. Walk in a leisurely, casual, or aimless way admire thousands of multi colored orchid plants of many different species. There are two basic types of orchid:

  • TerrestrialĀ orchids grow at ground level and are rooted in the soil
  • Epiphytic orchids take root on trees and rocks above ground level and feed on dead plant matter and the moisture which collects in the nooks and crannies of their hosts

The flowers come in different colors, sizes, fragrances and shapes hence orchids are beautiful plants that help to add beauty to the surrounding. There are hill top garden avail variety of orchids named their founders.

How to reach Orchid garden

Rapid KL Bus: No. B115 from Kotaraya to Jalan Parlimen

KL Hop-On-Hop-Off bus: disembark at Station No. 14 in front of KL Bird Park Main Entrance.
Buses available at every 30 to 45 minutes interval.

KTM Commuter Train: Disembark at the KTM Old Railway Kuala Lumpur Station (KA02) located near the National Mosque.
