Singapore Embassy in KL the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a ministry of the Government of Singapore responsible for conducting and managing diplomatic relations between Singapore and other countries and regions. The services comprise of visa applications, passport renewals, marriage registration, legalization of documents, birth of a child, Singaporean nationality issues and more. Visa and Entry Requirements for Foreigners

All visitors to Singapore must meet the following entry requirements:

  • Valid travel document (minimum validity of 6 months at the time of departure)
  • Confirmed onward or return tickets (if applicable)
  • Entry facilities, including visas, to the next destination;
  • Sufficient funds to maintain themselves during their stay in Singapore; and,
  • Visa for entry into Singapore (if applicable)
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination (if applicable)

Visa fee: The visa processing fee payable is RM99 (equivalent to SGD $30) for each application.  A service fee of RM80 for each application is chargeable by the AVAs for their services.

1. Requirements for Tourist Entering Singapore

1. Passport Validity

  • Have minimum 6-month passport validity if you are not a Singapore passport holder

2. Visa

  • Short term travelers holding a passport or travel document from a visa-required country/region must apply for a Visa
  • Visa-required travelers can use the Visa-Free Transit Facility for stay of less than 96 hours in Singapore, if eligible

3. Security and Immigration Processes on Arrival

  • Ensure that you do not bring prohibited items into Singapore
  • Familiarise yourself with immigration/customs clearance procedures, including whether you are eligible for automated clearance
  • Short-Term travelers should have sufficient cash and proof of onward travel (tickets, visas), and ensure that you do not stay beyond your visit pass validity.

4. Short Term Visitors

  • Visitors who wish to stay beyond the period of stay granted can apply for a visit pass extension online using the e-Service. Applications are subject to approval.
  • Travellers on short-term visit pass are also not permitted to engage in any business, professional or paid employment activities when in Singapore. Overstaying is also a punishable offence in Singapore.

5. COVID-19 Vaccination for Permanent Residence and Long-Term Pass

  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination is required for new Permanent Residence, Long-Term Pass and Work Pass applications, as well as the renewal of Work.

2. Student visa Requirements

After receiving their offer letter from the desired institute for a particular course, students need to apply for student pass to enter Singapore.

  • Valid passport- 3 Months validity
  • Completed Student Visa Application Forms – ICA form 16 & Form V36
  • Application fee payment receipt, as you are required to pay S$30, which translates roughly to Rs 1,538. An issuance fee of S$60 (Rs 3,076) has to be paid once the Student’s Pass is approved and issued
  • The offer letter
  • Two passport sized photographs (if applicable)
  • Bank Statements
  • Fixed Deposit Receipts (if necessary)
  • Bank loan sanction letter (if necessary)
  • Transcripts, diplomas, degrees, or certificates from schools you attended
  • Test scores that your college required, such as the TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT
  • How you will pay for all educational, living and travel costs

3. Work visa Requirements

Work permit that enables the foreign national to work in Singapore for a particular period of time. There are 5 types of work visa providing by Singapore:

  • Entre Pass: Foreign entrepreneurs who wish to start their own business venture in Singapore.
  • Employment Pass: This permit is for foreign professionals, managers and executive level people.
  • Personalized Employment Pass: Employment pass and is issued to those with a higher salary.
  • S pass: This pass is issued to the mid-level skilled workers.
  • Miscellaneous Pass: This visa type is issued to foreign nationals working in Singapore for a short-term basis.

  • Valid passport
  • Duly filled application form
  • Copies of education certificates
  • Past employment testimonials
  • 2 recent colors photographs
  • A detailed description of the type of work to be performed by the applicant in Singapore
