Types of trains in Kualalumpur, Malaysia

 Overview

There are seven types of long-distance train services operating in Malaysia. There are two railway lines operate long distance in Malaysia.

  1. West coast railway line
  2. East coast railway line

These two lines are connecting Kualalumpur to Port Klang and Batu caves. The majority of the trains are electric trains.

  • Bukit Mertajam to Padang Rengas
  • Batu caves to Tampin / Pulau Sebang
  • Tanjung Malim to Pelabuhan Klang

  • Cheapest and Slowest service operating in Malaysia.
  • Fully air condition.
  • Automatic door open and close.
  • Train have padded seats and plastic benches.

Points to remember before travel ETS Komuter train:

  • Cannot reserve tickets in advance the ticket must be purchse at the trains station on day travel.
  • The train have no on-board facilities.

2. ETS Platinum

There are two routes train run long distances in Malaysia.

  • Kualalumpur to Butterworth
  • Padang besar to Gemas

These trains additionally stop at Ipoh and KL Sentral stations.

  • Fastest and most expensive

 4. ETS Silver

ETS Silver trains run on one route in Malayasia.

  • The Ekspress Rakyat Timuran is the only train service which travels the entire length of Malaysia’s East Coast railway line.

7. East Coast Shuttle Trains

It runs two routes on the East Coast Shuttle line.

  • Tumpat to Gua Musang
  • Gua Musang to Kuala Lipis

 Features of East Coast Shuttle Trains 

  • These trains are diesel powered trains.
  • Train runs twice daily in each direction on both routes.
