Overview KL Forest Eco Park

KL Forest Eco Park is located in heart of the city Kuala Lumpur.  Formerly it was known as Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, and it was gazetted as a forest reserve in 1906. This forest currently covers an area of around 9 hectares, and it has several knitted tracks for jogging. This famous forest park in the heart of Kuala Lumpur is also formerly known as Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve.

Tourists often visit here for a quick stroll or hike or a leisurely stroll.  This forest is very close to a number of other important popular tourists’ spots, including the famed Menara Kuala Lumpur which is actually visible from the forest. The most recently opened canopy walk gives another great touch to this place. It is a great place to come early in the morning to enjoy the forest in its vastness and gentleness.

An impressive 200m canopy walk, providing visitors with a wonderful aerial view of the treetops and the city beyond. As well as bringing some fresh air to the city centre, the park is a refuge for birdlife and wildlife, mostly monkeys and small mammals.

Attractions of Eco Park

1. Herbal Garden

In this garden we can feel aromatic and medical herbs cultivated by here with love. The tour would be a great learning experience, and the fresh aromatic delights will just make your day much better.

2. Canopy Walk

This is the most recent addition to the forest, and has already become a highlight for most visitors. It is definitely one of the most picturesque areas of the entire forest, and one can take a walk through it while enjoying the lovely view of the city’s skyline.There are altogether three trails here:

  • Arboretum Trail
  • Penarahan Trail
  • Jelutong Trail

3. Timber Product Gallery

Very close to the entrance of the forest, this local shop sells a number of remembers and gifts fashioned out of timber. The prices are cheap, and you get an opportunity to support local craftsmen by purchasing the timber products.

4. Small Hikes

Take a quick hike across the trails spread throughout the forest area of this park. Working out in the fresh forest air will surely energise and refresh you. There are a number of trails interwoven all across the forest for hiking.

5. Nature trail in the park

A quick walk in the woods is a great idea for anyone who is tired of moving in a massive crowds. Here you can enjoy the lush green beauty of nature and you can test your adventure.

6. Memorable picnic with your Family and Friends

There are a lot of great spots across the forest, for you to settle down with your family with a picnic blanket and some tasty snacks. You can spend an entire afternoon away from the unending hoarse sounds of the city, laughing and chatting with your loved ones here.

How to reach KL Forest Eco Park

By Car: The City Centre is a mere 2.7KM away from The KL Forest Eco Park.

By Bus: Buses 190, PJ05 and GOKL all operate daily from City Centre to KL Forest Eco Park.

  • You can enjoy nature trails like the Arboretum trail, Penarahan trail, Jelutong trail, and a few small hikes.
  • This park is an extensive information center for people, and you can also explore a famous herbal garden.
  • True nature-lovers can also do a campaign here, but they have to take permission from concerned authorities.
  • The park is a refuge for wildlife and birdlife like small mammals and monkeys.
  • There are some delicate species of lowland non-dipterocarp and dipterocarp trees and some endangered species like Karas (agarwood) and Kapur (Camphor).
