The German Embassy in Kuala Lumpur also supports the German Embassy Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei Darussalam) in legal and consular matters. Visa for Malaysia Citizens
Malaysian citizens do not need a visa to enter the countries of the Schengen Agreement, including Germany, as tourists or business travellers, if their stay is not longer than 90 days within 6 months.

Requirements for visa
- Passport has to be valid at least for another three months and it has to be issued within the last 10 years
- Presented that prove the purpose and circumstances of the visit.
- Proof for sufficient funds.

Working visa
All persons, who wish to go to Germany for employment, are required to obtain a National Visa before leaving Malaysia.
What are the Documents need for working visa?

- Completed and signed national visa application forms
- Valid Malaysian permit (applicable to non-Malaysians only) (original + 2 copies)
- Curriculums vitae in English or in German (2 originals)
- Academic qualifications (original + 2 copies)
- Company profile (original + 2 copies)
- Detailed business plan (original + 2 copies)
- Proof of financial investment (original + 2 copies)
- Revenue forecast (original + 2 copies)
- Proof of accommodation/ rental agreement (original + 2 copies)
- Travel, Health and Accident Insurance with a validity of 6 months starting from your intended travel date (2 copies)
Student visa
The Embassy generally issues visas with a minimum validity of 90 days, allowing multiple entries. Shortly after entering Germany, the visa holder must contact the responsible Immigration Office (Ausländerbehörde) in Germany, which then issues the final residence permit. The requirement of student visa are:
- You have to be present at the Embassy for verification of your identity and to provide your fingerprints.
- Please submit the following documents and make sure to divide the documents into
- Originals, 1st set of copies & 2nd set of copies.
- Duly completed and signed national visa application forms (VIDEX) (2 originals)
- Biometric passport pictures not older than 6 months (2 pieces, white/grey background- teeth cannot be visible)
- Valid passport (data page and signature page only) (original + 2 copies)
- Valid Malaysian permit (applicable to non-Malaysians only) (original + 2 copies)
- Admission letter or invitation letter from a university in Germany (Zulassungsbescheid) (original + 2 copies)
- Admission or invitation to an admission test at a Studienkolleg (original + 2 copies)
Proof of language proficiency (original + 2 copies)
- German: Goethe, Telc or ÖSD incl. from Institutions recognized by ALTE
- English: IELTS/ TOEFL
Proof of your past qualifications/ educations (certificates) in English or with a German translation (original + 2 copies)

- German residence permit from a non- German Citizen (2 copies)
- Proof of financial stability (e.g. Formal obligation etc.) (original + 2 copies)
